Cd Release Tour Success!!!

Thursday, November 8th, 2007

Hello! Thanks to all of you who made it out to the nearest Cd ReleaseShow near you! The tour was absolutely amazing! Thanks to Marc ofHumboldt Squid for letting us ride in his super-hip- V10-black with redinterior-FBI van. We rode in style for sure. The shows were amazing! Itwas truly wonderful being able to play with the full band. We had a lotof fun up on the stage together. I think this was the 15 YearAnniversary of bassist Andy Zenczak and drummer Mark Quinn sharing alive stage together….AND the first live show EVER with Chad Kaltinger onkeys…..!!!!Santa Cruz was our favorite. We had a full hour or so to play on a nice, wide stage. There were people dancing AND… people yelling goodthings at us. Reed KD and the Armchair Aviators were simply outstanding.(I will be opening up for him actually on December 8th at MontereyLive.) It was great to meet everyone at the San Francisco’s SingerSongwriter Coalition. Jeff was an amazing guy AND a kick-ass bassplayer!!! In Goleta, we played with some amazing bands. The Repeater andMinor Canon. Huge sound for a small joint! AND the best outdoor patiovibe ever. We got see some really great friends and family in LA. Andhang out at Mark’s place on Venice Beach (where Xanadu wasfilmed in 1980)…Andy and Johnny Shaw had their first experiencewearing boots as well in LA. After cat-walks throughout the store, theyfound that special pair and since then, have never been the same. All ofa sudden, they are taller, cockier, cooler and much more in your face. Ilove it.All in all I would say it was definitely too short. We arehoping to put together another run of shows, making sure that we head upnorth to Seattle and Portland, in March…I hope this finds you alldoing very well!Much Love to you,Kelli

Happy Holidays Everyone!

The new year has a lot in store for us. It’s looking like the new album “Our Buildings” on Bigger Than The Barn Records will be released around Febuary or March of 2007. I am so excited. It has been long working period and the sounds and tunes are really starting to complete their circle. Some great r&b vibes thanks to Chad with his one-man string section, fat grooves from Mark and thick ass bass playin’ from AZ. It hilarious to hear and so exciting. Music to Dance to…and of course some Lullaby feels on it as well. Most of the tunes are with some incredible musicians I had the honor of recording with, making it a dream band for me.

I am creeping into the city of San Francisco, looking to play alot of shows. And meet some great musicians and music lovers. For those of you in the Sac area, I will be playing on KDVS on Feb. 8th at 11pm. Tune into 90.3fm.

Hope this finds you well. Have a great holiday season.

Tuesday, July 11th, 2006

Hello all.

The relocation to California has been wonderful. All of the rough edges are starting to smooth out, and I’m settling in. The new record is in action. All of the drum and bass tracks are finished and sounding awesome. Drummer Mark Quinn and Andy Zenczak have done a great job at fine tuning each song with a particular drum sounds and tones. The foundation has been laid! Piano and Rhodes songs will be next. I am excited to introduce these instruments more so on this record. Guitars will be finished this week and with the new arrival of Guitarist Johnny Shaw to California, more guitars, vocals, rhodes and tunes will be blooming. We plan on starting to play out new tunes along the West Coast starting in August. Hope this finds you all doing well!

Tablet Review

Saturday, August 6th, 2005

Check out the Tablet review of Lullaby For An Astronaut:
“Kelli Hanson is the stuff dreams are made of. Her voice is sure and beckons the listener like a finger, drawing us deeper into her lush arrangements. We’re lost in her ethers, caressed and crooned by this songbird’s gentle style, only occasionally rustled by her stronger chords and harder hitting rhythms that ebb and flow. Still, it’s never enough to completely wake one from this phantasmagoric reverie. Instead, we follow Kelli, as she explores her various influences without ever appearing as an impostor.” -Shawn Telford

Tour!

Tuesday, July 26th, 2005

Hello there. Lots of good news to report. We have a West Coast tour planned for the fall. Starting off in LA, we will work our way south to San Diego and go as far north as Sacramento, from September 23rd through October 12th.p. Keep your eyes out for dates and cities, which I will be posting soon. Hopefully, I will be able to see you all at one place or another. Also, Mark Quinn, who played on the record, will be touring with us, as well as Evan Dixon on bass and John Faryar on guitar/vocals. We will be playing a live set for 101.7 in Santa Cruz! Vee Vitanza, who will be shooting a video for “Papillon De Nuit” will also be filming the tour as a documentary. Also, Rockrgrl Summer Camp will be a great one this year. I have the honor to be apart of this years camp, along with Kelli from Arkade, Visqueen and many more. We played a great show with Arkade at the Green Room last week. We played a broken down set which turned out to be one of the bands favorite shows, so I am sure we will be taking that approach for many future shows. “Lullaby For An Astronaut” will be in all Sonic Boom listening stations for the month of September. Stop by and take a peek if you are in the area! Hope all is well!

Skidmark Bob from Free Radio Santa Cruz is currently giving the album away on the station, so if you’re down in the area check out 101.7 FM. We are hoping to do a live in studio show at the station coming up with the West Coast Tour in the fall. You can also find the record in Streetlight Records in Santa Cruz now! We have found a video artist for the music video! Vic Vitanza from LA will be working with us on putting together a video for “Papillon De Nuit” so stayed tuned for some fun details on that. Sinc Collective has a remixed old skool version of the song “Come By Me” that we collaborated on years ago online. Stop by their site to check that out. Be well!

Portland

Friday, June 10th, 2005

The NW Radio Singer/Songwriter showcase at the Green Room in Portland went great. The people at NW Radio are so sweet and inviting. It was good to get down there and put our feelers out for what Portland has to offer. John accompanied me for the show and blew the doors down on guitar.

New Website

Saturday, May 28th, 2005

Hello there! Thanks for coming to the website. There has been some really great momentum happening since the release of “Lullaby For An Astronaut”. The CD release party was a great success and I think all of us had fun. The band played wonderful as well as Mark Johnson from Amateur Radio Operator. It was a very special night with Andy Zenczak and Mark Quinn (who played and recorded the record) in town for the show, not to mention family. “Lullaby For An Astronaut” is gaining a stronger presence on the web. You can find me on: NW RADIO, MYSPACE.COM, CDBABY where you can also purchase “Lullaby For An Astronaut” and Tregenza CD’s. You may also purchase the CD through PAYPAL

Make sure to stop by the gallery for the new pages I put up.
